One of the more difficult ones. But oh so fun. Had a little bit of everything. Sweeping ocean vistas, gravel and asphalt ‘cobbles”, probably the best descents off the west coast side of Haleakala. Day started off with leeward wind advisory with gusts in the 40 range. Dropping into the gravel section almost got taken out by a car with a waft of cannabis as he flew past. Hana side of the island got rained on the entire time but got a dog 🌭 to refuel. Finished off in the dark for the last hour or so which made it a bit spicy. Had been planning to do this ride until Hawai’i Airlines lost 😠 my bike. Redemption.
