Snow Day run ❄️

AKA Tour of the Ski Areas. Top of the lifts at Mad River Glen and Sugar Bush multiple times. Cool views. Wanted to hangout on the lodge deck at the top of Mt. Ellen but today I was on a mission. Pictures aren't that great- lens was fogged and I forgot to wipe it. This was a really beautiful run, especially on the top of Abe. It is relentlessly technical and muddy especially towards Appalachian Gap where there were bolted in steps, a ladder, tons of gnarly roots, and green slimed rocks. Water and mud was covering nearly the entire trail. Not sure if it's always like this or from recent thunderstorms or a wet early summer The only part with dry rocks was on the top of Mt. Abraham. This section was really sweet. Temperatures were perfect and the rain held off until the last mile. There is a great place to swim near the covered bridge in town. Kids were jumping off the bridge into the water. I took a bird bath and headed back home with Kate, just in time to get to the Vermont Deli before closing. Kate visited the art galleries in town and went to the Cabot outlet for tons of inexpensive high quality cheese. Felt like a vacation, even though it was only a day.
