To paraphrase Jack Charlton: I prepared properly, got a bit of sun, ate well, drank very little.. we're going to change that tonight! 

I look at this time with 50% pride, 50% determination, as I feel I've a good few mins to shave off that time. I am delighted with the sub 3 though, and more so with my pace. Not my fastest marathon but the best one I've ran. 

Struggled a bit at the halfway point so the headphones came off and some deep thinking took place. I ended up with a second wind then the second half flew by. Was well past the 32k mark before the legs started to feel it which was a great sign and I knew I'd manage the sub 3.

Class course and nice support about, along with the good weather, makes for a lovely marathon. I'll definitely be doing this one again 🙏
