Afternoon Ride

Not the day we were looking for, but the day we got. And we thank God for it! Cleat problems followed by a dropped chain around mile 25 saw the front group go up the road. Knew my day of being competitive was over after that. Rode with two others for 50 miles until being swallowed up by a group of 20 or so, legs felt good but the big group wasn’t seeing anything go up the road, so we just hung out till the end. Easy to be bummed by a crop day on the bike, but was quickly reminded by how special of an event this is. I’ve had a lot of good days on the bike lately, so a not so great one ain’t too much to fuss about. Thank God for bikes and thank God for Midsouth. Lots of motivation in the tank.
