I doubled back. Like Harold and his Purple Crayon willing things from the universe, someone had chocolate chip cookies and banana bread, possibly my favorite foods, for sale on the side of the road. I asked them what they were selling them for. For money, haha, they said but not a lot of sales for the evening. I asked if they had paypal and would give me an email address. Probably 14 years old, giggly at my insistence on paying them. No cash. Hope springing for our future. They gave me a cookie, my day ruled!
