The break went the 2nd time up Patterson Pass at the very top. It was crazy windy, and a headwind up Patterson. Felt like you had to kill yourself to crawl along at 8 mph. It was LITERALLY a wind farm, see pic. I cramped with 30 miles left and couldn't pedal, got dropped from the break (rip rule number 1). After rubbing my legs a little, I was sure I'd get caught by chasers but the field was shredded and I just kept pedaling alone. 20 miles later I passed a guy who also cramped out of the break, and came in 5th.
