Touched all the lakes! Just barely hurdled the snake 😅 2:57:05 elapsed for a new OA fkt.

That was pretty hard. Legs were feeling used and it was warm with the 1pm start. Debated cw (familiar) vs ccw (would put me through snake territory before the warmest part of the day) and chose cw. I used this as race practice, so started steady but chill on the two-track. At mile 9 or so, my route was very unexpectedly flooded! Navigated that and then met a rattlesnake which really cracked my focus, as there were a lot of rocks and some grassy xc to cover before the end. So I slowed a lot in the last couple miles, hyper-focused on every little sound and foot placement. Really glad I brought an extra 1/2L of water, since the sun came out and it got really warm.
