Legs were toasted after the last few days/week(s). Meant to do some pushes on the climb, but just lightly tempoed it instead as a final scout. It was drizzling and then pouring though which, between the wet rocks and mini creek that had developed on the trail, made for a call it dynamic descent. Not to mention the fog was so dense and the rain so heavy that I could barely see. Fun af. Only got the FKT by 1min it looks like, but I think I’ll submit it if only because it’d be good to have an updated track up on the website. The trail was rerouted above the upper Higgins Bald intersection, with the work wrapping up officially in late 2022. This added 0.15miles each way, or just about that. The difference is just great enough that sometimes Strava matches activities to the old segment, but sometimes only the new one which is the case with this file. I know the trail maintenance project was a big, multi-year one so hard to say how much easier/harder it is now, but it certainly is slightly longer
