This shit is only 2000 years old!! Wtf! Trying to solve the geologic puzzle of Idaho is no easy task.. but I’m gonna fuckin do it.

Look at these amazing pahoehoe lava flows and huge shield volcano craters! This is actually insane, there are even preserved tree stumps! All the rock is tholeiitic basalt, assumingly from a hotspot. But the hotspot is supposed to be in Yellowstone…? THE PLOT THICKENS
