Trade up for the fast ride, We close our eyes while the nickel and dime. Take the streets completely.

OK, turns out I'm not very good at tapering. Today should have been resting legs before Struggle Dales in Sunday, and I'm out segment hunting. Successfully I may add 😊

Today was very reminiscent of May 2020 ride, except instead of a global pandemic it's rampant populist politics playing havoc with the country (🚨 easy mate, this is Strava not TikTok. Take yer woke rants elsewhere). 

Solo spin around Strathaven lanes in the sun. Largely soft pedalling with the exception of the segments I'd targeted. Happy to have been successful on most of them.

Farm Climb - My first ever KOM, which I only found out I had when I lost it to someone who was just out on a wee spin. Tried many times to get it back. Today was the day 👑 EDIT - Just realised it's a tied KOM, guess I need to find another second ⏱️

Millheugh to Hilltop - PR and top ten. That was a big ask, particularly as I wasn't prepared to total wreck my legs and empty myself due to the event at the weekend. I ca know what go faster, not sure how much, but definitely a little if I hurt myself doing it.

Is it a road? - Thought it was a good day for this one with wind behind me but I got that one wrong. Nothing prohibitive but headwind and fatigued legs meant it wasn't the day for a KOM on that one. Even with fresh legs getting Ross Meffen KOM is always a big ask

Langlands to Singer (and Singer Saunter) - Last minute addition to the old KOM hunt. Went for this last time I was out and had not realised it started at the first roundabout so missed it. Legs felt suitably recovered from Is It A Road... segment so went for it since the next stop was home and beer 👑 (oh and 🍻)

Fun old spin. Genuinely feel so lucky to live so close to these excellent roads
