Today started out well. My body felt strong this morning, and fortunately, there was no wind until the afternoon. The route also offered several more small towns available for rest stops, about every 25 to 40 miles. It really wasn't until around 12:30 or 1:00 that the heat cranked up and the wind started blowing, which really sapped the energy out of me. And, apparently, three applications of sunscreen is not nearly enough.

To those following along and sending me messages, thank you so much. It truly means a lot to me. Remember that the tough days make the good days even sweeter. We all have our own roads to travel and mountains to climb. Love you all.
