Jason's most epic ride to date. Will he come back for a repeat in 2018?... TBD. 🤔

After Jason's first century ride last week, I was going into this with a small amount of nervousness about if he would make it. But, by mile 80 he was still going strong and there was no more doubt about "if" he was going to make it. At that point it was a matter of "how fast" he was going to make it. He was in good spirits and pacing well.

Looking back on my first ride vs Jason's... I went faster than Jason for moving speed, but I had 4 flat tires and a crash along the way, so my start to finish time was longer than Jason's. We'll call that a draw. 😉  

As for myself, my left Achilles was a bit sore still so I put on some KT Tape to see if that would hep. It did while I was off the bike, but not so much while riding. It didn't hurt, but it was noticeable enough to know I'm still not fully recovered. I patched up my right knee with KT Tape as a precautionary measure since it's given me troubles before and that never acted up during the ride. And, something that popped up late in the ride that I've never had before was a pain in my tibia tendon(s?) just above my right ankle. That was weird.

As for the ride... Weather was much better starting off than in previous years (no rain). But, that changed by time we hit our lunch stop in Beloit. Rain was chasing us down and by time we were approaching the last rest stop it had caught up to us. Thankfully it was short lived.

Along the route, we had a good time chatting with quite a few people. I wish I could remember all their names and give a shout out to them. Billy and Maggie are the only two off hand who's names I can remember. It was fantastic riding with you guys and look forward to doing it again! 😄
