The old world record stood at 130km in 5:27 and I ended up more than doubling it at 262.5 in 9:44 hours. 

To get the official record, we had 15 volunteers helping with timekeeping, witnessing and providing food and drinks, and I'm immensely grateful for their help. My girlfriend, parents and some of my best friends were there, pushing me lap after lap with their cheering. 

Thanks to Velor for providing the kit, those bib shorts really did help me push much further. Big shoutout to WV Amsterdam as well letting me use the course. And Marvia and The Life You Can Save for sponsoring and spreading the message! 

And of course, the more than 100 donors who made this a lifesaving ride. We're not sure yet how much we raised for charity, but what we do know is that we have raised more than enough to save someone's life from malaria. Every lap was more money for charity, and that helped me go one more lap over and over again. My suffering for one day is nothing compared to the suffering of the 600.000 mostly children who die of malaria. If you want you can still join with a donation with the link in my profile.
