It was good until mile 30.. then the sky’s opened up! And at mile I stopped to help some other riders, and watch out for other riders . After a while I then  headed back  out but  at mile 35 my bike said Hell no,  and since I had no brakes and no gears well that  was that! Hobbled to mile 39 where  patrick hoag and crew were kind enough to pick me up. Also many thanks to Laura Schnurstein  for the ride to get cleaned up!
