First and foremost, an awesome day. Holy 🥑 (that’s guacamole), the Slate Valley Trails are outstanding! Some of the very best I’ve ever seen in Vermont. 

Race started well. It’s so hot and humid that’s the ROCKS we’re sweating. Seriously. So I slipped and whacked my shin after maybe 10 miles. Otherwise unscathed. 

Then I gashed a tire around 20 miles. Happy with how quickly I slipped a tube in. 

Then somewhere around mile 30 apparently I went off course because I was in 5th place and happy wrap up there… but then suddenly I was in 2nd. 

Alas! An awesome day, terrific event, great competition, and super fun area. Back for more next year (and hopefully sooner).
