Here's why I didn't race today! I have a non-standard front brake which was installed on an emergency basis just to get me home one day . There is not enough clearance between the brake and the tire to ride the dirt section when it's wet. I know this because I tried it in those conditions a week ago Saturday and it ended up rubbing the entire dirt section and started to sand down the metal on the brake surface. At best today I wouldn't have been competitive. At worst, I could have crashed if a rock got jammed up there, and maybe taken some others with me. The right front brake is on order at V5 and didn't come in in time for the race.
