Saw a couple of scraggly adolescent coyotes when I was climbing up horseshoe… pretty cute, actually.  First time in 16 years that we are empty nesters for a couple of weeks with all 3 kids at bar 717. settling in… weird feeling!

first ride with full XC setup on the DV9 -> rekon race front and rear, back to clipless. pretty great! pretty perfect for the fire roads around here. light and faster (for me).  

after thousands of miles with a rekon up front on my hardtails it will take some time to see how much I can trust a semi slick front tire 🧐.  Still taking it real easy for the knee, but hrm looks low on goldenrod / think I was working a bit more than rhat
