On sunday I arrived to Montreux after the 66k +3500m -4000m of my 7th consecutive ultramarathon in which I completed the Via Alpina, a 400k +23.000m trail that crosses the whole swiss alps and 14 mountain passes, in 6 days an 20hours, in a solo and self supported style. I did this only 2 days after running 160k +8000m from the lowest (Brissago) to the highest point of Switzerland (Dufourspitze) making it a total of 540km +30.000m in ten days within 12 days.

But more importantly, I did all of this during my vacations, payed for everything myself, and trained for it while working full time as a doctor.

To complete these two consecutive projects, I had to become the most resilient and strong minded version of myself. It was an agonising, epic and unbelievable beautiful journey. I even had to sleep on the ground in a stall when I got caught in the most severe storm of the summer, ran while bleeding from my feet due to the open wounds that made each step extremely painful (there were times where I almost fainted from pain), ran under the pouring rain, threw up in the forest, hallucinated...
Ultras are a rollercoaster of emotions and besides these „Type 2 fun" experiences, there were lot of emotional moments watching the most epic sunrises and sunsets from the mountains and admiring the beauty of the swiss alps. If I knew what I was getting myself into before starting, I would probably have thought twice, but now I would do it over again without hesitating.
