Headtorch coastal path - cold and windy 🥶

- Solo backpack adventure I’ve had on my bucket list for a few years. Today was the day!

- Today was also 25°C with no shade 🥵 Very uncomfortable running weather and unfortunately slowed me right down during the hottest parts of the day when I still had the strength to run.

- Ended up drinking too much and carrying too much fluid to avoid dehydration. Nice to have it as a safety buffer, but not nice to carry the extra weight 😮‍💨 

- Plenty of opportunity to topup during daylight hours - cafe at West Stow county park, Tesco in Bury, Co-Op in Lavenham and Long Melford. That was it then, everything closed for the night with 50k to go.

- Lots of sections were very overgrown with nettles, especially after Lavenham, knitted together from either side of the path 😣 Definitely a trail for winter/early spring to avoid the stop/start and getting stung from ankle to chest.

- Was a nice, quiet night. Only saw 2 people heading off to drink beer in the fields by Long Melford. Getting very tired but had music and audiobook on very low to give me something to think about apart from the rustles and noises all around. One of the highlights was seeing around 10 badgers over the night. I’ve never even seen one alive before!! I was so happy! 😊 

- Exhausted by the time I got to Bures. Got my bivvy out and stopped in the churchyard for a few hours. No sleeping bag so not much sleep. In hindsight I stopped for too long!

- Just before sunrise in Nayland I went through some woods and I swear I could hear an elephant trumpeting. Then I noticed a sign saying about a private wildlife sanctuary so I suppose it could have been. Then I started getting paranoid about them having lions or tigers so got a move on 😅
