Exceeding expectations - 2/3 of White Mountain West ridge

Posted a whole trip report and spent the last 3 hours thinking that I was 3 minutes too slow for the FKT when in fact I was 3 minutes ahead! Huge props to Michael Moore for setting a high standard to beat!!! It was 3:17, not 3:11! New FKT for the Broken Top Loop!

Left the OG report below. Carried 500ml of electrolyte mix that lasted til the very end, a 500ml filter that I filled at no name, and again a mile or two before Green Lakes. I ate two 250-calorie Spring speed nuts gels, one lemon gu, 2 electrolyte chewable tabs, and two orange slice candies. Also carried a wind-breaker, gloves, tape, a tampon for an emergency puncture wound, latex gloves, my car key, a croissant, and one extra gel. Rabbit shredder shorts waist belt and Salomon hip belt, no bag.

Didn't plan to race this today, but got 100 ft. into the trail and said screw it. Decided to push to No Name Lake, and if I was under 60 minutes to the rim, I'd keep going. Got there in 57:58. Felt great through Green Lakes, but I don't think I pushed hard enough on the climb out, or the big descent from there. I tried to keep a constant effort, but maybe I should have given it everything. That left me with a stout final 5 miles, and the well was just too shallow on the last climb and descent to hold on. Unlike my normal, I decided to start a slight bit more conservative with my pace than I usually do. Usually, I'm pretty much all gas from the start. I felt a little fresher at the end than I normally do, but I think if I had pushed the start and pushed the middle just a few seconds per mile more, I could have done it today. I know this one's within reach. I will get it next year.
