Long needed couple muddy ride 😮‍💨❤️

Late Night Session - 2x15 steady-state + 4x20-30s accelerations

So we somehow couldn’t sleep last night and tried to sleep in a little. But past 9 o’clock we got up. First we would do a little yoga mobility before we would have a small fruity breakfast. After a longer talk with our host we finally started. Rode a few 100m to stop for the second solid breakfast consisting of a smoothie bowl and 3 vegan waffles 🧇 that would fuel us for a good while! The ride started out great and easy along a beautiful old train route with very nice views left and right. But the strong headwind would accompany us again for the rest of the day! 
So after a while we would face again some hard climbs until we reached the old DDR borderlands! We continued on some old tank concrete roads, took a stop for a little climb up one of those old border watchtowers which was a pretty cool and badass 😎 thing to do before we continued the steady up and down of north-east Hessen until we passed the Monte Kali - the biggest over 500m human-made salt mountain 🏔️ which looks absolutely surreal in this beautiful medium hilly area! Then we crossed the border to Thüringen. 
In Thüringen we continued our ride until we would face a huge thunder cloud 🌩️ and some rain. We stopped and waited a bit before we continued through the national park Hainich which was full of hard climbs. Another opportunity for me to do a few Threshold intervals. 🥵
Afterwards the darkness had arrived, but we continued our ride through some trails and other very technical sections until we reached Bad Langensalza.
Finally we would refuel our empty muscles with some nice vegan Indian food 🥘 
Unfortunately there was another 15 km through the darkness to get to our stay for the night. But even the ride through the night had some very nice gravel sections that we really enjoyed. This was probably the most mountainous part of our tour to Berlin. Looking forward for the next sections of the Candy Bomber Gravel ✈️ route!
