Absolutely brutal day & conditions!  Opted for 2.2 mtb tires swapped morning of the race and was good call.  Started dry but then mist started just out of Temple canyon, got colder and wetter through Gorge, Hwy 50 and Red Canyon. The Shelf climb was watt sucking mud but at least not actively raining, just heavy mist collecting.  Had to remove gloves as no dexterity to eat and drink and was colder with wet gloves (both pairs).  Got behind and ran out of fluids to Victor aid station where it went from 39 to 33deg.  Was just looking forward to Phanton descent but it was WORSE with puddles, bad washboards and actively raining until just before pavement entire 24 of 25 miles!  The run-in course routing  seemed never-ending but finally made it!  Character building kind of day but bike ruining!
