Let’s goooo! Hectic day but overall awesome experience. Warmed up at the hotel and was gonna drive over but parents said traffic was insane, ended up riding a scooter over lmao. Didn’t really get to do any warmups but got like 2 strides in. Snuck into the elite athlete zone for the start. 

Start felt really smooth and was basically just in the front pack right away, kinda just locked into pace I guess. Super awesome having people cheering the whole way. Took a GU at mile 4 pretty easily, mile 7 I started getting nervous about hurting bad but just kept rolling. Calves started hurting bad at like mile 8.5 but was locked into pace and felt good aerobically so just kept cruising. Plan was to try to push a little once I got to mile 10 but calves wouldn’t really let me speed up even though I felt good. Just fought through the last few miles, mile 12 was tough uphill but then started rolling the last mile again. 

Super super happy with this and was better than I expected. Went by pretty fast and was super fun even though I was running by myself for about half of this. Pretty good for a miler 👀. I’ll probably do some more of these but idk how the heck people do marathons.
