Good day. 7th place. 2:09:21. 
What a race. The first half of the race there was a lot of yoyo-ing. I tried to be slow to respond. As we climbed the bridge to enter Queens, we hit halfway in 1:05:36, I felt good. A big move was made and I covered it perfectly, and we broke away from a lot of runners, but soon the rest of the pack caught up. We hit Queensboro Bridge and once again I covered a good move up the hill. A surge was made with a out a quartermile to go down the hill and we were flying. I peaked at 4:08 mile pace and even I was falling off the back. I had heard that people get too aggressive on first Ave, and let them go thinking this was just another yoyo that would come back. I couldn't help but remember what Meb told me a couple of days before the race, save something for Central Park. I saw Conner just ahead form a chase pack and I was in the second chase pack with Teshome, and another athlete. We were flying down first Ave. I tried to slowly close the gap while being patient. The crowds were wild. As we got towards the Bronx I was nervous about the other athletes drafting on me, but I felt strong and could tell I was closing slowly on Conner. I was told I was 15 seconds back. In the Bronx, Jackson, the same kid that ran parallel to me in Paris at mile 18 up the "Wall Hill", came out of nowhere cheering and waving an American flag. I smiled so big, made eye contact and surged. A half mile later Jackson came out of nowhere again. As we entered back into Manhattan I surged and broke away from Teshome. I saw Conner catch Wesley Kiptoo and surged past him, the gap was closing, I surged around him. As we headed up the 5th Ave hill, I couldn't help but feel like all of NYC was wanting me to catch Conner as much as I was. You were so loud! Thank you! I decided to be patient up the hill. I entered Central Park and I slowly closed on Conner. He kept checking his shoulder. I probably got with in 3 seconds. I was digging so hard. With a mile to go, Conner took off. I tried to cover. He crossed the line and I once again crossed right behind him. 4/4 marathons in a row. I asked him a place we had taken. 6 and 7. Good. Of course we wanted top five and a crack at the podium, but it's been one heck of a year. And one heck of the last 14 months.
