Run with Fred on the bike

Longer run before the children sports. 10k with more intensity in the middle

Run streak day #2160

Wet until midday as forecasted
Very peaceful first 20k to first hut
Good steady and easy climb to McKinnon Pass - forgot how rocky it is, especially after Hump Ridge yesterday
Realised I had not much time left with 25k to go to catch the 4pm boat at the end of the trail so put on the afterburners which I will pay over the next few tracks I think
Relaxed last 8k when I knew I was clear
Had a nice encounter with a Weka who came close as I sat and stopped on the McKinnon pass, it was very curious
So nice to cool down in the lake, hopefully that helps with recovery
