Fourth time running this one (2015, 2017, 2019, and now 2024).

What a way to close out the year! 4:19/km pace overall, pretty happy about that. My best pace for the race, and I'm almost 10y older than the first time I ran it 👴

The first km was chaotic — so many runners that it was impossible to stick to my pace, weaving in and out just to keep moving. I probably overcompensated in the next couple of kms, which might’ve been a mistake because I ended up with a nasty stitch from 4-7 km. It was tough, but I focused on my breathing, and while the pain didn’t fully go away, it became manageable.

Finished strong the last kilometre and change!

This race felt like the perfect way to end my best year of sports yet. Excited to see what 2025 holds — probably more swimming!
