So many (many) times I have endured the long slog out on foot late in the season after skiing Mt Adams - both the NH and WA versions. 
A few years ago, in June, at the WA version, we had the unicorn combo of being able to drive to Cold Springs yet ski right up to the car. 

That inspired today’s tour. Especially since I wasn’t too interested in the alternatives … blasted by the wind at the Cog, drive further for the usual Sherb, skin up Bretton Woods yet again, GBA mini golf…

The trails turned out to be just as skiable as I had expected (i.e., not the problem on other routes of too narrow to turn and too steep to straightline). 

Winds didn’t feel too bad (although my watch did add on an extra ~900’ before I applied the Strava correction) but I was definitely prepared … except for how I forgot my boot muffs but fortunately my toes got only slightly chilled. (Must be the outstanding insulating properties of the La Sportiva Stratos V!  Lower elevations probably also helped.)

Turned around just past the warning sign so that I could ski from about where I cracked my ribs after slipping on a rock while downhiking from a three-day ski mountaineering hut trip back in late April of (IRRC) 2014.
