-One of India's toughest 1200 LRM conducted so far, which deserved all the hard elevation & endurance practice in the past 2 months!
-Though confident, some stats of the route such as 14500m elevation cramped up in the mid portion alone seemed to give chills up the spine!
-Day 1(Feb 26th) started off with flat sections along Madurai - Kovilpatti NH44, crossed TN border via Sengottai and a short Thenmala climb. Crossed Kallada dam, countless Kerala villages with some amusing names(Melemukku, Uthimoodu, etc😅), reached Varkala. Got the chance to stay awake full night on the special Shiva Ratri😇
-Day 2(Feb 27) Kerala climbs day - from Erumeli, Vagamon with deadly descent towards Moolamattom. Followed by Kulamav climb & Idukki in mid day heat with special Kerala matta rice lunch. Crossed endless rolling terrain to Adimali and a ruthless high gradient climb before reaching Rajakkad @ 582km the first drop bag point.
-Day 3(Feb 28) TN climbs day - finished Rajakkad Poopara Bodimettu climb and entered TN. Navigated some flats(140km) before starting climb from Ottanchatram to Kodaikanal. Quite a thriller experience along dense forests and dispersed villages with cloudy climate. Drizzles started from evening at Kodaikanal! "Palangi village" & Solar observatory - some sudden gradient spots at Kodaikanal😅 Kodai downhill was the worst part with the condition of roads! Reached 2nd Drop bag @ Batlagundu.
-Day 4(Mar 1) Final day with a brisk Sirumalai climb in super cool cloudy weather. 180km left to fight some head winds and flat roads to finish. Comfortably ended at 10pm & caught 11:50pm bus back to CBE(unlike Bekal 1200 where I missed the bus😅)
