Cycling is one of those sports you can seriously geek out on. Sure, brute strength can get you far—but with so many factors influencing performance, it’s tough to avoid the science. Everything from bike fit and frame design to the ball bearings in your wheels can impact your race results.

Because equipment plays such a critical role, it can be extremely difficult for some demographics to afford to compete at a high level. And beyond that, not everyone has the genetics to build the kind of engine needed to push high intensity over long periods.

That’s why I do my best to share knowledge with athletes—regardless of class, gender, or ethnicity. The truth is, most competitive cyclists are lacking in some area. The playing field isn’t level, but with the right support, knowledge, and strategy, we can help more people rise to their potential.
