Easy Run

This was more fun running than I've had in a while.  Every year when I get my car inspected, instead of waiting, I jog over to Norristown Farm Park and run on the roads and trails.  Every time I find new territory.  I even managed to get all turned around once (that little loop  in the middle) and I had to bushwhack a couple of times to get to where I wanted to go. By returning on the Schuylkill River Trail, I made a big loop out of it.

Race start for my wave is Friday, April 4, at 11:00 MST. I'll be in the first of four waves, so I'll have a three hour head start on the leaders, who will be kicking sand in my face as they pass me early on the way to the second aid station.  I'll have 7 days and 5 hours to beat the cutoff.  My guess is that the winner will cross the finish line in just under three and a half days.

I really have no idea how far I'm going to be able to go.  My legs are in terrible shape, I've barely trained, I'm getting frequent jabbing pains in my knee...  dropping out at the first aid station is even a possibility.  I hope I can complete 100 miles.  The first stretch goal is to make it up and over Mt. Lemmon into Tucson, about 150 miles.  After that? Well, the Holy Grail is the finish line at mile 304.3.
