I could not have done this with our lovely girls who were the support crew for these 24 hours!!! And massive kudos to Nathan for taking 1st place in his age group in the 12 hour race!

We started on Saturday morning at 06:30 on a dark and foggy car race track (5.5km). After a couple of laps we went out onto the open road where we stayed during the day. With me riding in the non-drafting event I obviously wasn't allowed to sit in anyone wheel and had to keep three bike lengths in front of me. Sitting some distance behind a group of 12 and 24 hour drafter was a massive help although, I think we overcooked it somewhat on this hot and windy day. After 11 hours when we got back on the race track, I was ready to give up. The thought of not even being halfway! The girls who kept giving me updates on how many laps I was ahead, kept me going.  

Oh, and if you completed 400 miles or more, you qualify to enter the Race Across America (RAAM). Maybe one day. 

What a great event that was! Well organised. But would I do it again?
