Don’t want to tempt fate

Welcome to the marathon. Huge learning experience and by far the most impressive positive splits you’ll ever see. Tanking like the Charlotte hornets. 

Overcarbed for fear of bonking, stomach was unsettled and tried a maurten every 20 mins. Hadn’t used enough in training, stomach was in pieces, threw up after the second one. Also went out too fast, naive in any marathon let alone in your first. At 10k felt numbness in my left leg. 6-10mile was a battle to tell myself not to drop out. Split the half and decided the race was over for me but I was going to finish. Threw up multiple times and couldn’t take any fuel on from mile 10 so slowed the pace right down. Cramping and stomach pains punching me all the way to the finish line. 

Despite all that, I’m a marathoner and I’ll come back next time having learned a lot. All part of the beauty of running:)
