Third in the regular marathon running an extra mile, lmao. Plan was to treat this as a hard workout long run and run 5:45-5:30 pace depending on how I felt and just see where that put me in the field. Felt very comfy throughout the whole thing minus some tummy discomfort after taking a caffeine gel (I really need to practice with these or something because they never used to destroy my stomach). 30 second bathroom stop at 11.5, then got right back into it. Felt really good once we hit the downhill, and just kind of cruised on the bike path. At this point I had moved up into third, and had my own bike pacer. However she didn't take me off the bike path at the right time, so we ended up having to loop back and I ended up pretty much running an extra mile. Marathon split was somewhere around 2:25:00-2:26:30 depending on how accurate my watch was at that point. Picked it up a little in the last few and still felt good and strong. Pretty hilarious because my split through the marathon is faster than my slowest sea level marathon, and then I kept going faster the last mile. Solid fitness indicator and a fun day in gorgeous weather!
