Day 87: to Tom Levarti’s House (1576) - 20.3 miles

We started today with the fluffiest pancakes and a warm cup of coffee served up by the caretakers. To show our thanks, we helped get water from pond that is used for dishes and drinking water (once filtered). KT got the low down on volunteer caretaker at the cabin then we made our way north. Cookie Lady 2.0 was our first stop of the day where we took a 2 hour lunch break and recharged. She had warm cookies, cool hibiscus tea, and three dogs that welcomed us. The theme of the day was trail magic as we set up camp at Tom Levarti’s house, a trail Angel legend who has been helping hikers for over 46 years. We got water, juice for the phones, lots of bonus food(veggies, hardboiled egg, etc.) and the neighbor brought us over brownies as well. We also snuck in some extra calories with some beer and pub food. Met Cruiser at Levarti’s!
