Dam Loop x2 - Run & Walk Intervals

How long can one of these Strava descriptions be? As they say on my favorite fictional game-show-within-a-show, "Let's find out!". Got started an hour later than I wanted because I overslept, but luckily that wasn't a dealbreaker for the day, in fact it might have actually helped. Gregory Canyon doesn't let you pay for parking before 5AM, but Green Mountain's summit is in cell phone range, so I knew that I could still access the internet and pay for my spot as long as I was up there around 5, and I got to the summit at 457, so I didn't even have to wait around too long. The rest of the day was just this intense mental challenge knowing that I had to complete this crazy loop twice. The other long-distance hikes this year have been fairly committing, and the fastest way to end the hike has been to just finish the hike, whereas this time I was actually sitting back at my car at the halfway point. Just had to keep telling myself to shut up and go back up the hill. Once I'd summitted Green Mountain for the 2nd time, I knew I was going to be able to do the whole thing. Also, despite there being some knee pain on the very first descent of Green for about ~10 minutes, I didn't experience any of the same issues that have been bugging my the last 3 weeks and I'd call that a major success heading into a rest week. What a day, though - went through 7.5 liters of water and every crumb of food I had brought with me.
