From Perth I hopped on the all-electric bus line, Ember, to Lochearnhead - trying the bus was my main goal of the day, and forced me out on the bike. From Lochearnhead I  cycled over the Ben Lawers pass for a pitstop at the Glen Lyon Tea Room, then down the glen to home. The experience on Ember was infinitely better than any ScotRail journey with a bike I’ve ever had - from booking to boarding to drop-off. Scotland would excel if the trains worked just a fraction as well as that bus service.‍
