Afternoon Mountain Bike Ride

By far my favorite day of the series. Technical with a small climb, it certainly plays to my strengths more than the rest of the courses. I moved up to try and get off the front, and right when I got to the pointy end, the heavens opened up and it started dumping rain — perfect. 😈 I ended up in a small split of ~5 riders as the field disintegrated behind us. I was hoping it would stay that way, but the field slowly came back together. I dodged 3 or 4 crashes and kept the rubber side down to finish 22nd. Wanted a little bit more, but happy with finishing in the severely reduced group and not ending up in a barrier.

Seeing the all-time cheer squad of joe plechaty, Kris Oleson, Kerri Guehrer , Eli, and Sam absolutely made my week. What an incredible feeling. Thanks gang. 🫶
