Lunch Workout

Epic day having a wild idea come to life. Jack Neus my partner in suffering, did an amazing trip report on his Strava activity.

Some thoughts:
Highlights 
- leading Positive Vibes on Hulk in two pitches and flowing pretty perfectly together up to the summit
- Emma and Michaella’s support and stoke throughout the day and getting suprised by Rod twice throughout the day - for the run and the last 25 miles of the ride
-Zero bonks or real muscle fatigue (high carb does work)
-Weather, we waited out a very windy 4th of July and got pretty perfect low wind weather on all legs

Lows
-Knees! Bike fit failed me, I think. My left knee medial meniscus tear and right knee lateral tear REALLY flared up as soon as we got 2 miles into to the run. The left meniscus would catch every minute or so and send a shockly painful nerve pain up my leg, causing me to almost trip a few times, and the right slowly increased to a consistent lower grade pain with every step. I limped up to the base of the Hulk very unsure if we would have to rap. And then topping out and hiking down I couldnt really bend my legs and was forced to do a strange stick man wobble down. Suprisingly I was able to jog the flat portion out and use my calves to boost my legs over rocks instead of bend my knees 😂 I held out hope that biking back miiiight be okay with an on-the-fly bike fit adjustment. The bike back definitely hurt pretty bad on the knees but I was able to really use my glutes and core to take pressure off my knees. Maybe back to MRI tube soon 🤷

Overall I’m so happy we made it happen and really hope others will try to repeat it in the future!
