Got a bad headache around mile 30, cured by remembering to drink my fluids and crossing (swimming?) Sandy River. Whatever climbing was left in my legs leaked out when I sat for a sock change though…to keep it fun! Second creek crossing + some snow fields put a little pep in my step again, but the last two miles lasted 800 years and I have never been happier to see the lodge. My first (nearly) 50 mile run was an amazing experience and I’m grateful to have such a beautiful place to run dumb distances. I have a goal time in mind for this route now and look forward to doing it again!
