Didn’t mind the heat, the altitude, the gradient or the traffic heading to the lakes. Was just ticking over until the plague of tiny flies followed me from the midpoint up. Subconsciously kept trying to outpace them (unsuccessfully) and raising my heart rate at the same time. Not one I’m likely to do again but the lake was nice enough.
