Lost gloves 1 mile out, Morning Run to retrieve them. Solo hiking. Jackson met John from Madison, moving quick. Crossed Michelle a couple times. Passed a few old ladies (“young man’s game”, “I came here to have fun, not kill myself, but looks like I’m going to do both”). Hike towards huge mountain, big switchbacks, cross stream, big butterfly, blueberry patches, lots of brambles, nice sandy forested stream, tall knowing forest with raining needles and tiny fairy flowers. House sized boulders. Huge climb. Met Cassidy (wa thru hiker) 3/4 up. Camp at pass. Hike around. Draw mountains in found journal, drawing is hard. Wind storm, everything is covered in dust.
