Painted traverse is incredible, and incredibly difficult. I do not recommend in an overnight pack. We attempted the Disappointment Peak route up Glacier Peak but were cliffed out just shy of the crest and short on time. The mountain definitely changed since 2021. I will certainly just do crampons and an ice axe next time, snow conditions are good in the afternoon and a few other folks did the glacier route without ropes. The sketchiness of the bouldering up Disappointment isn’t worth the avoidance of snow.
