Vive Le Velo, 10 mile TT, 18:03 min, 1st🥇
Trial event back on the A63 after a 7+ year hiatus. First rider off at 7am, so we were all off the carriageway before 9. Proper CTT race, we all parked in the industrial estate, and HQ was a tressel table in a turnaround spot. Love it. Arrived 30 seconds before my start time lol, oops. Similar to 16 months ago, when I missed my start time by 30 seconds on the V714, at my second ever TT. Meant my heartrate was up there before I got off and going. Got out hard ofc, but didn't get up to/hold the mythical 57 kmph speeds of 16 min men (Gullen & Marcin). Was going to be quick, but not absurdly so. Lost a little time with a slow lorry at the turnaround. Carriageway was buttery smooth the whole way - as was the turn (tho couldn't make the most of that today). Downhill to get you going again, and it's a shorter leg to the finish, taking the first exit from the RAB, then sprint for the line. 

PB, improving on 18:17 min from Levens last year. Felt like perfect conditions this morning, warm (for 8am), and extremely still. But it's not the same as the old course is it lol. 🧓🏻 Original had downhill slip road start, and ended just after a downhill on the carriageway - which we had to go up at the start instead. Also events used to be run at 2pm, so traffic flow would've been a huge factor in making it fast. Today was very quiet, which was nice for riding, but clearly slower for times. So Rambo was indeed right that it wasn't going to be as fast as the oldie. Not sure why they haven't given it a new course code like V719 or V2/10. It's nice and local for me though, so I'll definitely be back if it becomes a mainstay in 2026. 😊

Also did some aero testing on a section of the V714 afterwards, which worked well. Good to get done after a 10, when you're not totally shattered, and feel you could get some more riding in on the day. As I'm not sure I would've got out on the bike after getting home lol. 😅
