But mostly testing systems I didn't intend to!

Goal: Lock down Roctane gels and drink mix timing ✅ 

Reality: Glass shard(s) got to both tires w the front getting the worst of it.  Silca sealant did finally clot to keep some air.  Then my thread-on pump unscrewed the valve core upon removal, letting out most of the air I just put in.  CO2 cartridge ended up putting TOO much pressure in the tire and blew out a bit of the sealant clot, starting the bleed again 😕. 

Gingerly hand-pumped to tire back to working psi and pussy footed it home.  Slow leak in the front the whole way, but I made it.

Would've ridden longer if not for the flats, growing rush hour traffic, school pick up along route, strong headwinds along hillside, and bad crosswinds making the SBM descent quite sketchy...

All in all, seemed like a good simulation of actual island riding!  🤣
I'm just hoping to go mechanical-free on the actual race.
