The inaugural running of this event, with only ~80 entrants, but neatly in the middle of our family holiday in Keswick. I was outclassed for most of the race, trailing last in the lead group of 4 as we walked up the final ascents looking for all the world like we were on a leisurely Sunday stroll (but at mara HR!), feeling completely jiggered. Only the last couple of miles on smooth, gently downhill surfaces gave me an unexpected break, and maybe I was better stoked up on water, gels and race snacks at that point.
