Hugo from day 2 said it best: when it’s bad, it first gets worse then it gets better. Yesterday was a challenge. Got pretty tough and then got worse. Today, however, was one of the best rides I’ve ever had. Just more epic Oregon coastline and some pretty amazing little detour roads that were super quiet and beautiful. Just an overall epic day. Plus, my legs and whole body felt like fire today, which is weird because yesterday was the hardest day yet. But I felt good enough to shoot for 20mph average. Wasn’t able to hold that with some late-in-the-ride detours, headwinds and stops. But I got pretty close! Feeling awesome though - it’s amazing how the body so quickly adapts to this kind of strain. My Whoop recovery scores are crazy good, too, which is a head scratcher. Oh yeah, and I ran into the world’s chillest dude Carlos from Madrid who’s doing a crazy adventure from Canada down through South America. I really wanted to just chill with him more but his bike looked like it weighed 100 pounds and he wasn’t going to be able to keep my 20mph pace 🤣. All-in-all an amazing day, and the icing on the cake is that the weather is looking promising from here on out. Also, I made it to Cali! Woo hoo! More tomorrow :)
