Was overcast and not terribly hot when I started the ride. Didn’t have a designated route but just took whatever road intrigued me. Saw a flock of turkeys and some Sandhills cranes. Got about five miles from home and it started lightening and raining on me. I’m pedaling as fast as I can to try and get home and what next? Dan pulls up behind me in the truck. He followed me for about three miles until it started raining really hard and I couldn’t see. At that point I gave up and let him drive me the last 1.5 home. Thus the 18 miles instead of 20. But I was glad he was there because it’s pouring!!! 200+mile goal achieved!!!
