After tagging White Mountain, Kilian turned north, spending two long days riding across Nevada and California, straight towards Mount Shasta.

He pushed on through cool, overcast skies that turned into a drenching rainstorm for the final hours of the journey.

Between September 28 and 29, he covered 626 kilometers (389 miles) in just under 30 hours of riding, averaging nearly 200 miles and 14–15 hours in the saddle each day.
