I really love this race and everything that comes with it! 

Hats off to Kyle King for the win and the USMC for the challenge cup 🏆, but also to my Royal Navy teammates for absolutely taking it to them with the fastest RN team combined time possibly ever?

Thought I must be in PB shape for this one. I thought a good day would be 2:27:xx … but this was a perfect day. The lead group went out steady and I found myself right in it running my expected pace. As the group picked it up from 15km through to halfway, I still felt comfortable - now running well in above my goal pace, and definitely caught up in the race at the front. Kept running with big balls to split the half in 71:07, knowing that it would be near impossible to maintain that in the second half. As the leaders kicked on, I settled into my own pace running solo and didn’t slow too much (at least until the last 5k!).
2:24:31 for 4th in an event of 40,000 runners - an unbelievable day that I will never forget!!
