…well, attempted to hike to Philotheou. Until Monk John rode by with his truck and told me to jump in.

The snack on the table? When dropping in for a visit at any monastery, when the monks see you’ve been hiking, they immediately offer a snack: loukoumi, water & a shot of liquor. Then they show the icons and relics - today at Simonopetra Monastery, they showed part of the cross and Mary Magdalene’s hand.
